Health food brand Cauli Rice uses crowdfunding to raise 1.4 million pounds to promote rice substitute

The project fundraising was carried out in several stages on the Crowdcube platform. During the final stage, the project successfully raised more than three times the initially declared amount – £1,4 million instead of £400 000. As a reward, 15.23% of the company’s shares were distributed among investors.

The Cauli Rice food startup offers a rice substitute based on cauliflower. The artificial rice developed by Cauli Rice features a lower caloric value and glycemic index than regular rice.

Today, Cauli Rice is a popular product among health-conscious people in the United Kingdom. The company was launched in 2015, and in 2016 alone managed to sell 1.2 million packages of their product. And demand for this healthy food is constantly on the rise. In 2020, the company set the ambitious goal of entering the international market. To achieve this goal, the company decided to raise investments through a crowdfunding campaign.
